Last week, a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of shooting a 16-year-old boy after a gang rivalry shooting near Santa Ana High School. The victim was not a rival gang member, but was involved in the rivalry. The victim’s friend tried to walk the victim home after he was shot in the torso, but the victim collapsed. The 14-year-old was arrested on suspicious of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. He may be tried as an adult because of the gravity of the offense.

A juvenile crime is a crime committed by a minor. If a minor is convicted of a crime, the court will focus on rehabilitating the juvenile instead of just punishing them. Once a minor is convicted of a crime, they face jail/prison time, probation, fines, community service, therapy and alcohol/drug classes. Convictions when you are a minor can follow you throughout your life and affect your employment and reputation. Therefore, if you are charged with a juvenile crime, contact an experienced criminal defense attorney right away to assist you.
